The Shalom Dragon Family Festival reflects the Marks JCH’s commitment to strengthening relationships across cultures and building a more connected, resilient community.

This year’s festival placed a special emphasis on youth and families, transforming the neighborhood with arts and crafts activities, inflatable attractions, sports stations, carnival games, obstacle courses, giant board games, bubble experiences, and live entertainment. Families of all backgrounds spent the day learning about each other’s cultures and traditions, creating new friendships, and celebrating the diversity that makes Brooklyn such a vibrant place to live.

When antisemitism, hate, and division continue to challenge communities nationwide (and right here at home), events like the Shalom Dragon Festival demonstrate the power of connection. By fostering understanding, mutual support, and meaningful relationships between Jewish, Asian, and other communities, we do our part to build the partnerships and understanding that strengthen us all.

We extend our deepest appreciation to Council Member Susan Zhuang, NYC Council Speaker Julie Menin, and our many community partners whose support made this celebration possible.
