The need for this work has never been greater. Today, one in four New Yorkers struggles to afford basic necessities, while poverty rates in New York City remain nearly double the national average. Many immigrant families face additional barriers, including limited English proficiency, unfamiliarity with complex systems, and difficulty navigating rapidly changing public policies.

For nearly a century, the Marks JCH has served as a trusted resource for immigrant communities across Brooklyn. Building on decades of expertise in workforce development, vocational training, adult education, and benefits counseling, our Keystone program will help our low-income clients enroll in job training, secure employment, and maintain compliance with evolving eligibility requirements for public benefits.

Most of our vulnerable clients simply cannot enroll in job training programs, search for jobs, and retain employment without the support of SNAP and other benefits to which they are entitled; these public benefits are not a handout, but rather a bridge to a more secure, stable future. Through individualized support, childcare and camp scholarships, emergency assistance, and intensive case management, the Marks JCH will ensure that vulnerable families can preserve access to critical resources while building pathways toward lasting financial stability and upward mobility
