As one of NYC’s largest and most trusted service providers for Russian-speaking older adults, the Marks JCH has long been a lifeline for seniors in need. But even with decades of service, we recognized a growing gap: our older adults were falling through the cracks of an overburdened and confusing healthcare system. That’s why this fall, we are launching our new Older Adult Healthy Living Program, a comprehensive initiative to help emigre seniors stay healthy, safe, and empowered.

The new program is built on best practices in geriatric care and designed for the real-world barriers our clients face. Many older adults (especially those living alone on public benefits) lack access to preventative care, are at risk of injury during hospital-to-home transitions, and feel overwhelmed by the complexity of their health insurance. Language and cultural gaps often make matters worse. Through personalized case management, caregiver training, and educational workshops, we will help them navigate the system with confidence and clarity.

Led by a team with expertise in geriatric care, the Marks JCH will integrate evidence-based frameworks like the 4Ms of Age-Friendly care into every aspect of our older adult services. We’re transforming how we support aging in place and changing the culture of senior care in our community.

Our deepest appreciation to The Fan Fox & Leslie R Samuels Foundation for their support in funding for this critical community initiative.
