Through this new partnership with NYU Langone, seniors in our Good Neighbors NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) will gain access to critical screenings and health education. Our older adults won’t have to travel anywhere to access these services; they will be delivered on-site, where they live. This is just the beginning. We are building a framework rooted in trust, cultural competency, and proactive care, led by our new geriatric Social Worker who will coordinate with caregivers, case managers, healthcare providers, and families. Whether we are educating seniors and caregivers on preventative care, arranging healthy meals for homebound adults, managing transitions from hospital to home, or training staff to better meet seniors’ needs, we are scaling innovations and setting a new standard in older adult care. At the same time, our workforce development programs are building the pipeline of professionals who work in this growing, vitally important field; we place more than 1,500 people each year in jobs such as Home Health Aides, Certified Nurse Assistants, and related professions. As our community ages, we are ensuring dignity and wellbeing at every stage of life while building an infrastructure that will continue to support both senior adults and their families.
