The May 4th festival was a joyful, nearly all-day celebration that brought together neighbors from a wide range of backgrounds, and hailing from throughout Brooklyn. With performances ranging from drumming circles to Israeli rap, children enjoying face painting and science shows while elected officials — including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, New York State Senators John Liu and Steve Chan, Manhattan Borough President Mark Levine, NYC Council Members Julie Menin, Mercedes Narcisse, Farah Louis and others — joined the fun. The event was a true reflection of the community spirit we aim to foster. By building bridges of trust, we can discover allies, grow consortiums, and stand-up to the rising tide of anti-Semitism. The day served as a reminder that cultural understanding and unity are more than aspirations; they are a reality we can build together.
Our deepest appreciation to Office of Council Member Susan Zhuang for their support in securing funding for this critical community initiative.
