Youth and Young Adult Workforce

The Marks JCH Youth & Young Adult Workforce programs equip young adults with valuable skills and certifications in NYC’s most in-demand sectors. Participants gain hands-on experience in real-world settings under the mentorship of seasoned professionals, bridging classroom learning with practical applications – paving the way for sustainable and rewarding careers.

Train & Earn (formerly the Out-of-School Youth Program) is a career pathways program that provides comprehensive job training and employment services within the Healthcare sector, along with support services needed by participants to find a permanent job, obtain their high school equivalency if applicable, and access postsecondary education and training.  Train & Earn is for youth and young adults aged 16–24, who are not working and not in school, and meet eligibility requirements. 

Marks JCH offers the following occupational trainings and certification programs:

  • Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
  • EKG Technician
  • Phlebotomy Technician
  • Home Health Aid
  • Home Care Case Coordinator
  • Medical Billing & Coding
  • Medical Secretary 

Program Highlights:

  • Earn-While-You-Learn (tuition free/stipends available)
  • Mentorship experience from seasoned professionals
  • Paid Internships (up to 150 hours)
  • NYS Certification Exams (preparation and fees included)
  • Job Placement and Retention Support
  • Employment Readiness Skills (inclusive of Resume preparation)
  • Referrals for translation and evaluation of diplomas and documents
  • Referrals for social services including assessments for benefit eligibility

The program begins with pre-academic training for career development, and in-depth, hands on learning of the healthcare field. Participants are placed in paid internships as part of the training program.
