Brooklyn Summer Camps at the JCH is more than a place where children learn how to swim and enjoy arts and crafts – it’s a safe environment where they can form lifelong friendships, shape their identities and build character. That’s why we’ve offered it for over 90 years!

For children 2-4: Yeladim

Yeladim campers thrive in our nurturing environment. We focus on the social, emotional and physical growth of each camper. We offer daily swimming lessons, gymnastics, as well as dramatic play, art, music, and experiential Israeli culture and Shabbat celebration. Weekly professional performance includes magic and circus shows, musical drumming activities, and animal shows. Each co-ed group is supervised by a classroom teacher, teacher’s assistant, and a camp counselor. Campers spend their summer exploring the world around them, creating life-long friendships, and participating in experiential learning in a safe and stimulating environment.

Chalutzim: children entering Kindergarten- 4th grade in Fall

Juniors: Kindergarten –  2nd Grade

Seniors: 3rd – 4th Grade

Chalutzim program is enriched with a wide range of athletic and creative activities in a supportive friendship-fostering environment, grounded in Jewish values. Counselors help campers strengthen social skills and cultivate self-esteem through engagement in exciting activities such as archery, sports, team building activities, art, music, and yoga. Groups in Chalutzim have 10-14 campers, each supervised by experienced camp counselors. Children entering Kindergarten are supervised by Early Childhood teachers. Campers enjoy trips to theme parks, museums, science centers, and theaters. All trips and activities are designed to ensure our campers will have a summer they’ll never forget.

Tzofim: For children entering 5th-6th grades 

The Tzofim program is designed to meet the changing social, emotional and recreational needs of the older camper. Campers select from a wide array of specialty tracks – including Soccer, drama, Krav Maga, jewelry making, painting, and sculpting. Groups have 10-14 campers each of the same gender, supervised by two experienced camp counselors. In addition to participating in specialized activities, children also enjoy overnight trips to Club Getaway and cities such as Washington DC, Boston, and Baltimore.

Haverim: For teenagers entering 7th-9th grades

Haverim division is our teen travel program, which provides a combination of trips to outdoor adventure courses, theme parks, water parks, and exploration of hands-on museums, science centers, as well as participation in Improv theater and creative arts. From archaeology expeditions to boating excursions and exciting and unforgettable overnight trips provide our oldest campers a chance to explore around them. Some of the overnight experiences in the past have included trips to Club Getaway, Washington DC, Boston, Virginia, Philadelphia and Lake George for their overnight experiences.

Inclusion Camp

The JCH provides a safe and stimulating environment in a small group setting for children with special needs. Through a combination of traditional camp activities, each child will have a positive and empowering summer experience. The program focuses on helping campers make friends and build social skills. We also help the children develop physical skills in sports and swimming.

Camp Payment Policies, Discounts, and Scholarships:

Deposits and Refunds:
A non-refundable deposit of $250 per child is required to secure registration. We accept all major credit cards. Full payment of all camp fees is required by June 1st, 2020. Failure to pay in full by that date will result in automatic cancellation of your child’s enrollment in camp with a loss of all fees paid to date. Anyone registering after June 1st, 2020 is required to pay in full at time of registration.
There will be no refunds or reductions of fees for days missed due to illness, absence, vacations, or change in family circumstances during the camp sessions. Refunds, less the non-refundable deposit, will be issued for cancellations in writing received before April 1st, 2020. No refunds will be made after April 1st, 2020 for any JCH camp programs, due in part to pre-contracted services such as buses, staff, campground fees, and other accommodations. JCH Camp reserves the right to suspend or expel any child from the day camp program. In such instances, no refunds will be issued.
Sibling Discount:
Full Season- a $150 per camper discount will apply for each additional camper in the same family.
Half season- a $75 per camper will apply for each additional camper in the same family.
*Scholarship recipients are not eligible for this discount.
