Programs

Preschool Programs: 3K for Children born in 2022. 2 classes, 27 total seats. 2 teachers + assistant in each classroom. Pre-K for children born in 2022. 2 classes, 30 total seats. 2 teachers + assistant in each classroom.

At Marks JCH, we believe the early years of childhood lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning, growth, and confidence. We dedicate ourselves to supporting the growth of children and families through quality education, enrichment, and community resources.

In partnership with the DECE, our NYCPS 3K and Pre-K programs provide a nurturing, engaging environment where children learn through play, exploration, and meaningful relationships.

Here, your child will grow and develop their:

  • Language Children build strong communication skills by learning to listen, respond, ask questions, and express themselves using increasingly complex language.
  • Cognitive DevelopmentThrough play-based learning and hands-on experiences, children develop creativity, early reading, writing, and math skills, while improving their attention and critical thinking skills.
  • Physical DevelopmentDaily opportunities for art, music, outdoor play, and sensory exploration, support the development of gross and fine motor skills in children.
  • Social-Emotional DevelopmentThrough collaborative projects, children learn to understand and manage their emotions, build positive relationships, and gain confidence as they explore the world around them.
  • Independence and Self-Help SkillsChildren are encouraged to make choices, explore their interests, and develop self-help skills that fosters confidence, responsibility, and independence.

Program Highlights

  • We follow the Teaching Strategies GOLD curriculum, fostering our students’ language, cognitive, and gross motor development, as well as science, math, and literacy skills.
  • We offer weekly music and soccer specials.
  • We are committed to supporting our students and families with navigating Early Intervention and Committee of Preschool Special Education (CPSE) services.
  • Our teachers are bilingual and are able to support families in Russian, Spanish, and Uzbek.
  • Family wrap-around resources include free English classes, social services, senior programming, and health and wellness.
  • Full-service facilities include two large gyms, dance room, and rooftop gross motor play space.
  • We provide daily breakfast, fresh fruits, snacks, and hot kosher meals.
  • We offer extended hours such as early drop-off, late pick-up, and after-school programming for K-5 students.

Sample Preschool Schedule: 9-9:30 Arrival/Breakfast/Choice Time, 9:30-9:50 Large Group Meeting, 9:50-10:50 Choice Time, 10:50-11:20 Outdoor/Gym Time, 11:20-12 Lunch, 12-1:15 Rest Time, 1:15-1:25 Read Aloud/Large Group Meeting, 1:25-2:30 Choice Time, 2:30-2:45 Snack Time, 2:45-3:10 Outdoor/Gym Time, 3:10-3:20 Dismissal

*Choice Time: Children get to explore and engage in activities of their choice including blocks, dramatic play, toys and games, art, library, discovery, sand and water, music and movement, cooking, and technology. These experiences develop their independence, cognitive, and social skills.
