Marks JCH of Bensonhurst is committed to provide quality after school care for every child. Our inclusion After School Center considers the special needs and interests of children with ASD, ADHD and Learning Disabilities without stigmatizing them. Solid academic enrichment, plenty of physical activity, skill development and a welcoming environment are created by our carefully selected and trained cadre of teachers and counselors. Family workshops are held to help parents navigate to Department of Education and its services, discuss different behavioral issues and present newest research findings on mental health. A lisenced psychologist is available for confidential consultations. For children ages 5-11 and their families. |

Sunday FunDay Program is for children 4-14 years old who have Pervasive Developmental Disorders: Autism, Aspergers and other developmental diagnoses.
This program is filled with enriched activities, such as arts and crafts, gymnastics, yoga, swimming and many more. The program utilizes sensory integration techniques, and ABA floor time model in order to create an effective environment for children and improve their socialization and recreational activities.
Our physical activities will provide children with effective ways to build the child's interest level, offer a predictable schedule, teach tasks as a series of simple steps, actively engage the child's attention in highly structured activities, and provide regular reinforcement of behavior. Our staff will provide a creative and warm environment through establishment of playful rapport with your child. We will assist them in building various communication skills, engage in social interaction as well as utilizing effective techniques that will provide them with a more focused surrounding.

Special Needs Saturday Night Swimming |

Marks JCH is proud to present our Special Needs Swimming Program. Every Saturday night starting December 3rd, 2011, we will be offering a nightly swimming class for all of our special needs members. Class will begin at 6:00pm and roughly end around 6:45pm. Our program incorporates games, muscle movements activities, sensory integration techniques; all while addressing individual needs and effective methods for the special needs population here at the 'J'! However, spaces are limited so sign up today!

Job Readiness Program for Teens with Special Needs |

Join our Job Readiness Program at the 'J' for teens ages 14+ with special needs. With this program teens will partake in role playing activities and E-mail correspondence. It will also give them a chance to work on and build social skills. They work on tasks necessary to aid them in their search for employment. The tasks they learn include resume writing interview, basic computer assistance, as well as internet search training. Our teens will also learn dress code, and interview and job standards that are expected from them for the future.
