PHILOSOPHY:
The Farber-Bruch Early Childhood Center provides a learning environment which permits children to grow physically, socially, cognitively and emotionally at a pace and in a manner which is uniquely suited to the individual child. Recognizing that childhood is sequential, yet individual, each classroom provides a wide variety of materials, experiences and learning opportunities. Our school’s developmental approach provides children with a sense of security and community, and therefore a framework through which children can develop meaningful interpersonal relationships, both with peers and adults.
JEWISH EDUCATION:
The Gan program provides developmentally appropriate experiences for children, celebrating Jewish holidays, teaching Jewish values and learning Jewish history. Through symbols, stories, songs, crafts and play opportunities, the Gan program integrates Jewish culture into each class' learning activities. Children are immersed in an exciting Jewish environment where tradition is respected and diversity is appreciated. Each week, through the sounds, smells and tastes of Shabbat, we celebrate the traditional day of rest. Major Jewish holidays bring parents and families into the classroom for song festivals and performances.
DAILY ACTIVITIES:
Using our renovated facilities, children’s day is a carefully thought out combination of education and recreation. The day is planned to provide structure, yet give each individual child the opportunity to explore and choose from a variety of activities and materials in the classroom: - Blocks
- Water/sand table
- Manipulatives and puzzles
